Erlangen, Germany, July 22, 2026 | Just in time for the summer holidays, the indie studio Boxelware is serving up some cool relief: Aquapark Tycoon launches into Early Access on Steam today! The colorful simulation game lets players plan, build, and manage their own water park – from the first slide to the last beach umbrella. The tycoon game is now available for Windows PC at €23.45/$22.99.
“For Aquapark Tycoon, we dove deep into the subject – quite literally, spending countless hours as a team visiting water parks ourselves. That gave us plenty of inspiration to give players real creative freedom in the game,” says Konstantin Kronfeldner, founder and CEO of Boxelware. “That hands-on experience shows in every detail. With Early Access, we’re putting the game into the community’s hands, and we can’t wait for their feedback to help us fine-tune it further.”

- Saunas with freely selectable shape, temperature, humidity, and furnishings, plus customizable infusion schedules featuring heavenly scents
- Park management, including finances, marketing, decor, and employee management
- Dynamic seasonal changes during park operations, as well as day-and-night cycles
- 13 playable scenarios with different objectives, possibilities, and challenges
- 18 shops for food, drinks, and merchandise
- 4 themed worlds: Pirates, Fantasy, Tropics, and Antiquity
- Online co-op mode to design water parks with friends
- Free-play mode with customizable parameters and 8 biomes
- Twitch integration brings viewers into the water park as guests
Aquapark Tycoon will continue to evolve based on community feedback. The roadmap includes more pools, saunas, and slides with new slide elements, additional scenarios, themes, Steam Workshop support, and a wide range of further optimizations. About Boxelware
Boxelware is a development studio founded in 2016, based in Erlangen. The studio is led by Konstantin Kronfeldner, who realized his dream with the space game Avorion. Funding was secured through a Kickstarter campaign. Since the Early Access launch of Avorion in 2017, the game has sold over 500,000 copies. Aquapark Tycoon is the studio’s second game.
