Believe in me! (please) - Teaser:
In Believe in me! (please), two to four players take on the role of self-proclaimed deities vying for the favor of gullible mortals at all costs. Natural phenomena are quickly claimed as their own miracles, their own cult is expanded with temples, relics, and an army of devout followers, and rival gods are toppled from their thrones using heretical means. The game combines tableau building, hand card management, worker placement, and a hidden trick-taking mechanism into a wild mix spiced with black humor à la Monty Python and Terry Pratchett.
A “Divine Edition” of Believe in me! (please) will be available exclusively through Gamefound. In addition to all the components of the standard retail version, it includes a number of special extras:
- “Mountain of Commandments,” an imposing dice tower that also serves as a stand for up to five commandments
- an unnecessarily luxurious velvet bag
- 20 additional believers with 5 new faces
- 6 magnificent monument stands for your divine ego
- 9 new Trinity cards for a total of over 1,500 unique deities with questionable design choices

Behind the project is a trio of authors who bring their craft from a completely different industry: Erik Haffner, Cornel Krizsan, and Henneke Holst, as the creative minds behind German cult TV shows like “Bernd das Brot,” “Ghosts,” “Pastewka,” and the crime series “SOKO,” have years of experience telling stories with wit, timing, and depth. In nearly four years of development, they have translated this flair for comedic storytelling into matching gameplay mechanics. The result is a game where players laugh, tease, and strategize around the table and where long-standing friendships can crumble like, as Haffner puts it, “dry wafers.”
